Astana, July 31 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) - The Kazakh government on Friday has approved of the Unified Healthcare System designed until 2020. The Healthcare Minister, Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev, said that the system has been developed with the involvement of international expertise and public opinion. "The National Healthcare System will be implemented in two stages. The first stage from 2010 to 2015 will unify the payment system for hospital treatments excluding cases of infection, tuberculosis and mental illness," he said. "The second stage from 2016 to 2020 entails introduction of residents' joint responsibility for health," the minister said. According to the Minister, the systems will help to solve the deep-rooted problems, eradicate corruption and introduce international standards in Kazakh healthcare system. "The system will encourage a competitive environment in the medical organizations, guarantee patent's freedom of choice of doctor or a medical organization and ensure transparency of medical services," Doskaliyev said. | |
