18:51 ISSUE OF LAND PLOT AT OLIMPIYSKY SPORTS COMPLEX EARLIER GIVEN TO INVESTOR FINALLY SETTLED
Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv city state administration has settled the issue of the return of one of two land plots at the Kyiv-based Olimpiysky national sports complex that were given to investors for construction, the acting head of the administration, Anatoliy Holubchenko, told the press last week. He said that land plots were given to Ural Ltd. and Intersport Ltd. "The issue with Ural Ltd. has been settled – they returned [the land plot] and we'll sign the documents next week. We still have problems with Intersport, and we're working on them," he said. He said that UAH 780,000 would be paid to Ural Ltd. Holubchenko said that the Family, Youth and Sports Ministry is to return the sum to the company, as the ministry received the sum during the signing of an investment agreement. "Kyiv city will pay almost nothing in compensation," he said. "Unfortunately, the situation with Intersport is worse, as the land plot was leased," Holubchenko said. He did not rule out that compensation in monetary terms would be paid to Intersport, although he said that a new land plot could be allocated to the company in compensation. Holubchenko said that the two land plots are of some four hectares each. As reported, Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko instructed Kyiv city state administration and Family, Youth and Sports Ministry to settle a problem with the return of land plots given to Ural Ltd. and Intersport Ltd. for the realization of commercial projects.
