The Hyatt hotel operator intends to open a five-star hotel at 5 Alla Tarasova Street near Sofiiska Square in June.

Yevhen Samartsev, chairman of the National Public Council for Tourism and Resorts, announced this at a press conference.

"Hyatt will enter [the market] this year...The sales of apartments are scheduled for June," Samartsev said.

He didn't specify who owned the hotel.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the shareholders of the Sviata Sofia hotel (Kyiv), situated on 5, Alla Tarasova Street near Sofia Square at their meeting on February 19 decided to liquidate the hotel.

The construction of the hotel was being made by Sofia Kyiv company, the controlling package of which belonged to Industrial Group consortium.

The American hotel corporation Hyatt is an operator of the Sviata Sofia.

Hyatt specializes in construction of the hotels, which render special services for the business tourists.
