Moscow. July 27 (Interfax) - OOO United Breweries Heineken posted 2.3 billion rubles in losses for 2008 against net profit totaling 777.97 million rubles in 2007.

According to the SPARK database, the brewer's revenue in 2008 came to 16.86 billion rubles, up 54% from 10.93 billion rubles posted in 2007. Losses from sales came to 1 billion rubles against 993 million rubles in profit for 2007.

Heineken bought its first Russian brewery in 2002 when it acquired Bravo International, which it renamed Heineken Brewery. Since March 2008, the group has included St. Petersburg-based Stepan Razin Brewery and Heineken Baikal in Irkutsk.

The company also owns Volga in Nizhny Novgorod, Shikhan in Sterlitamak, Siberian Brewery Heineken in Novosibirsk, Patra in Yekaterinburg, Amur-Pivo in Khabarovsk and Ivan Taranov Brewery.

To date, the company has spent 1.5 billion euro in purchasing production facilities in Russia.
