11:33 FOREIGN MINISTRY SAYS TWO UKRAINIANS WERE AMONG CREW OF SHIP THAT SANK OFF COAST OF SWEDEN
Kyiv, July 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has confirmed that two Ukrainians were among the crew of a ship that sank off the coast of Sweden early on July 31, the ministry's press service told Interfax-Ukraine on Friday. "According to preliminary information, two Ukrainians were among the crewmembers," the ministry said. The press service said that search and rescue operations were currently underway. The Norwegian-registered dry cargo ship Langeland, carrying stone to the Norwegian city of Moss, with a Ukrainian-Russian crew of six, sank near the Oslofjord, a bay located off the west coast of Sweden, in the early hours of July 31. The Norwegian maritime rescue center received a signal from the ship that it was listing and sinking. The ship most likely sank due to a shifting of its cargo.
