Kyiv, July 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Eighty percent of Ukrainians use railways to make long journeys, according to the analysts from Kyiv-based Management Consulting Group, referring to a poll the group conducted. The level of satisfaction with the operation of railways before the crisis in 2008 and in 2009 and then during the recession was studied. In the pre-crisis period a total of 2,416 people were polled, and during the crisis 1,816. The head of the analytical group of the consortium, Ihot Podturkin, said at a press conference at Interfax-Ukraine that those polled said that the key reason for selection of this type of transport is the reasonable price of tickets. A total of 38.7% gave this reason in the pre-crisis period, and 41.8% in the crisis period. | |
