Kyiv, July 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The prosecutor general of Egypt has ordered the return of 45,000 tonnes of wheat from Ukraine and Australia as it is of low quality and unfit for human consumption, the MENA (Middle East News Agency) news agency has reported.

The grain is in the port of Alexandria in Egypt. It was supplied by a private company.

Checks showed that the grain would be unfit for human consumption even if it were disinfected and sifted, the news agency said.

According to tentative data, Ukraine in the 2008/2009 marketing year has exported 24.7 million tonnes of grain, making it the third largest grain exporter in the world after the United States and the European Union.
