EC, INTERNATIONAL FINANCE EXPERTS REQUEST DETAILED INFORMATION ON TIME FRAME OF REFORMS IN UKRAINIAN GAS SECTOR
Brussels, July 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The European Commission and
international financial institutions have requested that Ukrainian officials
provide detailed information on the time frame of reforms in the country's gas
sector.
The report is necessary for Europe to
decide on giving a credit for Ukraine
to pay for Russian gas to be pumped into underground storage facilities, EU
Spokesman Mark Gray said in Brussels after a
meeting with participation of the EU officials, representatives of
international organizations, Ukraine
and Russia
on Friday.
He said that Ukraine fulfilled several important
obligations in reforming the gas sector, so the EU officials and international
financial organizations requested detailed information on these reforms.
He confirmed that the officials agreed to
hold the next meeting in Kyiv next week.
Speaking about the previous meeting, he
said that the parties exchanged opinions on reforms. Gray also said that the
aid might be expected in autumn. However, he did not give any more details.
