Kyiv, August 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) may lend EUR 12 million to the district heating system in the city of Zaporizhia to co-finance the installation of new gas engine units for simultaneous co-generation of heat and electricity.

As the EBRD said in a statement on Wednesday, the date of a meeting of its Board of Directors on the project has not yet been set.

The loan is to be issued against the guarantees of the city, which is the only owner of the heating system.

The total costs of the project are up to EUR 15 million.

A total of EUR 650,000 of technical cooperation assistance would be required to properly design and implement the project, reads the statement.
