Kyiv, July 27 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) will start buying back government domestic loan bonds placed by the government in the statutory capital of Bank Kyiv as part of its capitalization in July, Acting Finance Minister Ihor Umansky has forecast. Umansky told Interfax-Ukraine his expectations are linked with the appointment of a new governor at the bank, Ihor Frantskevych, a famous specialist on the banking market. According to Umansky, 50% of the bonds are likely to be bought back from Bank Kyiv in July. As reported, in June, the government decided to issue government domestic loan bonds worth UAH 9.474 billion to capitalize Ukrgasbank, Rodovid Bank and Bank Kyiv. The government domestic loan bonds will mature in 2017-2019. The interest rate on the bonds is 9.5% per annum.
