Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) - The average price per square meter in a one- to three-room flat on the secondary housing market in Kyiv in U.S dollars in July 2009 grew by 1.69%, to $1,520 per square meter, according to a press release of Kyiv-based SV Development consulting company. The maximum growth in the price of one square meter was recorded in Sviatoshynsky District, at 3.3%, where the average price of one square meter was $1,265. The minimum increase in the price of one square meter was registered in Dniprovsky District at 0.16%, where the average price of one square meter was $1,221. Darnytsky District remained the cheapest in terms of average prices, where the average price of one square meter over the period was $1,129, and Pechersky District remained the most expensive in average prices, where the average price of one square meter over the period was $2,546. According to market experts, the growth of average price for secondary housing in Kyiv is explained by the decrease in the number of cheap offers on the market and by the fact that a number of potential sellers have taken their flats off he market, and are waiting for higher prices in autumn.
