Kyiv, August 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) has permitted InterContinental Overseas Holding Corporation (Wilmington, the United States) to take over the management of the property of Kyiv-based Hotel Management Ltd., the committee's press service reported last week. Interfax-Ukraine said that the U.S. company has taken over the management of InterContinental five-star hotel located at 2-a Zhytomyrska Street in Kyiv, which would be opened on August 22. The committee said that InterContinental Overseas Holding Corporation's core business is asset management. As reported, the eleven-storey hotel will have 272 rooms, seven of which will be suites. The area of a presidential suite will be 314 square meters, the area of the royal suite will be 212 square meters, the area of other suites 80 square meters, and the area of a luxury room 72 square meters. A spa-center, fitness hall, swimming pool, laundry, business centre, and conference center with 800 seats will be located in the hotel. The owner of the building is Yaroslaviv Val Ltd. (Kyiv). The company performed the construction work. The hotel complex at 2-A, Velyka Zhytomyrska Street started in 2001. In 2003, its blueprints were approved, although they were reviewed in 2004 and 2005. InterContinental Hotels & Resorts runs over 150 hotels in 60 countries.
