Kyiv, July 31 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Kyiv-based Alfa-Garant insurance company boosted insurance claim fee payments by 12% in the first half of 2009 year-over-year, to UAH 24.917 million, the company said in a statement.

About 90% of the overall insurance claim payment sum were those made under KASKO [voluntary car insurance] and OSAGO [obligatory insurance of vehicle owner civil liability to third parties] agreements.

In the first half of 2009, the company collected UAH 27.363 million in insurance premiums, including UAH 20.648 million under voluntary insurance agreements and UAH 6.714 million under obligatory insurance agreements.

Property insurance accounts for the lion's share of the company's portfolio, obligatory insurance accounts for 24.5%, personal insurance for 1.5%, and responsibility insurance for 0.58%.

The number of the insurance agreements concluded by the company in the first half of 2009 hit 338,914, while the number of insured accidents on which insured clients received insurance claims was 3,605.

As of July 1, 2009, the company's assets totaled UAH 217.443 million, its net worth UAH 146.044 million, and its formed insurance reserves amounted to UAH 54.617 million.

The company's charter capital fund is UAH 100 million.

Alfa-Garant was registered on May 21, 2003. Its founders were Alpari Ltd., Paritet-plus Ltd., and Energo-Resource private enterprise.

Its regional chain consists of 18 branches and seven regional offices.
